---------- PAST MEETINGS ----------

May 17th, 2017 -  Public Meeting 1 - Community Forum

The community was invited to attend a public meeting to discuss the future of the East Hill neighborhood on at the East Hill Office Building. The meeting, the first in a series of planned public sessions, included a presentation by the development team and a discussion of potential uses and visions for the site. This was followed by small focus groups and activities to allow for the community to express their ideas and concerns. Data gathered from this meeting will be presented at the April 9th Community Forum meeting. Charrette Week Events

The team convened during the week of April 9th to conduct a week-long design charrette. The charrette is a concentrated planning and brainstorming event and involves intensive planning sessions, meetings, and production time. Public input is crucial to the design process and the team designed three events to invite our community to join in this creative reimagining of what the East Hill Plaza area can be.

All Charrette Week events were held at The Space at Greenstar. While holding the public meetings at East Hill would have been ideal, there is no single space in the East Hill area that can accommodate the anticipated attendance. We chose The Space at Greenstar because it is large enough, available for all three meetings, familiar to most of our community, is ADA compliant, and because public transportation is accessible and free parking is available.

April 9, 2018 - Charrette Week: Public Meeting 2 - Community Forum

The community was invited to attend a public meeting to provide an update based on the May 17, 2017 meeting. The first part of the meeting reported on findings and presented the planning goals and objectives. The second part of the meeting sought public input and allowed community members to meet in small groups with designers. Click here to see the presentation.

April 11, 2018 -  Charrette Week Design Open House

The community was invited to attend a Studio Open House for the public to observe the work in progress and discuss ideas with members of the design team. This was an opportunity to have one-on-one discussions with the designers and collaboratively imagine the site using blocks to place buildings and green areas on a 20th-scale map of the site.

April 12, 2018 - Charrette Week: Public Meeting 3 - Design Ideas Presentation

The community was invited to attend the Charrette Conclusion, which included a presentation and summary of alternatives for the site created during the charrette, with an interactive discussion of the merits of each. Click here to see the presentation.
